Sixth Grade

Hello Parents,

Thank you for continuing to check assignment books and to sign them at the end of the week. I check for your signature on Monday mornings.
I am very pleased with their work ethic. I continue to stress that nothing less than their best is acceptable for any assignment, and most of them have adopted that attitude. Please check the assignments that are listed on line. If there are no page numbers associated with a given assignment, that means the work is associated with a worksheet or a board assignment.  I have talked with all students, encouraging them to be advocates for themselves. There is always a day (at least) between an assignment and its due date; therefore, if a student does not understand something, it is up to the student to see me for help. A student that waits until the due date to say there was a lack of understanding is not being organized in his efforts regarding his assignments. Please encourage your children to review their assignments as soon as they are given to make certain they understand the expectations. If they don't understand, it is their responsibility to speak with me the very next morning before school. This is an important transitional year for your children; they need to be responsible and accountable for each and every assignment they are given. If they adopt that attitude, they will be very successful this year.
Thanks for your help!
